A Jeans Kind of Day

January 31, 2013

It is just bitter cold out.  I am not sure if feels so cold because it has been so warm or if really is just that cold.  To help stay warm I put on my Target Jeans, Target ox blood long sleeve, and a patterned cord blazer.  I finished the look with my new pair of Target wedge heels.  Maybe I should have called this post "A Target Kind of Day"?  XOXO, Tiffany

My kids see me getting my picture taken everyday they always want in the action!

These Boots Were Made for Walking!

January 30, 2013

Really rain AGAIN?  These Hunter boots are getting their money worth!  I am rocking them with a pair of Seven jeans, my husbands pink Valentino button down that I put a purple striped vest over it from Target.  The button down was big on me but with the vest I could make it look more fitted!  What do you think about wearing men's clothing?  XOXO, Tiffany

Great Find

January 29, 2013

1
Sunday when I was out and about I ran into a newer consignment store in my area of town called Clothes Mentor.  I left with a shirt and a new pair of heels and only spent 15 bucks!  Wait it gets better...  I got a pair of Tory Burch strappy leather heels for 12 bucks and a new shirt for 2!!  I died!  I love to shop at consignment stores I always find awesome things and I feel like I won't see it on every person around town.  Plus I get to expand my closet without paying full price.  Today I have on my new $2 shirt.  Check it out what do you think?  XOXO, Tiffany

Interview Look

January 28, 2013

Today I had an in-person interview with the American Heart Association.  I was really excited to get the chance to learn more about the opportunity and to see if I would be a good fit for them.  I wanted to make sure that my first impression would be a good one so I wore my black skirt suit a crisp white button down from Express and black heels from H&M.  Since it was the Heart Association I felt like I needed to have a little splash of red so I tied a sash around my waste as a belt.  I felt like I looked very professional and was ready to take on the world! Do you have a go to professional outfit?

How cute is that accessory?

Seeing Spots

January 27, 2013
Sunday is always a busy day for out family.  There is always church, church school, brunch with friends, and soccer.  Lately like I said before little Miss Hannah has been going to birthday parties and today was no different.  I was running all over the place once again.  I wanted to try something out a little different for my clothes...  I wore my black, white, and tan polka dot skirt from Gabes, and my new black and tan polka dot shirt also from Gabes.  I thought I would try mixing the two polka dots together to see how it would go.  I got a lot of complements about it.  People thought that it was one dress or sold together.  So I chalk it up to a success.  Oh and I am wearing my black solid shirt under my polka dot shirt today too.  Just to kick off the week of my favorite shirts examples.  It really is amazing how often a good solid black shirt comes in handy!  Can't wait to show you what I have planned for the rest of the week!  XOXO, Tiffany

Last day of Leggings

January 26, 2013

Today is the last day for my black leggings.  And I am actually happy to be finished with the week of leggings.  I am not sure if it's because I have been wearing the same style of pants for 2 weeks in a row or if I am just ready to change things up.  But I am ready to be done!  I think this week I am going to show how to I style my black shirt and a solid color shirt.
Anyway, today I have on my Old Navy black leggings and thick cardigan, a target solid green shirt, and my pink Hunters since we still have some snow on the ground.  We are going to dinner tonight for my mom's birthday so I saved my hair wash for later today so I put my hair in a high bun and wrapped a scarf around my head to add a little and to cover up the dirt! We have just been running errands and went to brunch.  Totally a day that I could have warn yoga pants and a t shirt.  I was just as comfy in my outfit and I felt put together.  With seriously the same amount of effort!   XOXO, Tiffany

Challenge?

January 25, 2013
Today is a snowy day in Cincinnati.  I don't think we are getting more then an inch or two but it sure is coming down.
This weekend my sister gave me a scarf that someone gave her.  She said she never wore it because she thought it looked a little "trashy"  love that she gave it to me!  I took it as a challenge!!!  I have on my leggings from the Gap, a black long sleeve shirt from the Gap, and pink cardigan that is about 12 years old so I have no idea where I got it.  My pink Hunter boots and the camouflage scarf my sister gave me.  I thought with the pink in my outfit it would make the print look more girly and less "trashy"  What do you think?  XOXO, Tiffany

leggings Day 5

January24, 2013
Well it's day 5 of the leggings.  And I can say I am ready for a break of wearing the same pants!  Luckily I have a few pairs of black leggings so I am not doing laundry as much as I was last week. I am wearing my black leggings from Old Navy, my black Tory Burch flats, a black long sleeve shirt also from Old Navy, and a blue, green, white, and black patterned loose shirt from The Rack.  I got the shirt this past summer because the colors matched my kids swim team suits perfect.  This is the first time I have worn it this winter.  I think with the long sleeve it made it work perfect.  I feel dressy without any effort!  XOXO, Tiffany

Leggings Day 4

January 23, 2013

Today I wanted to look a little more put together since I have a meeting tonight.  I am wearing a pink and peach polka dot shirt from Stein Mart, a black and white flowered blazer from Target over the shirt, cinched with a black skinny belt.  And my Black leggings from Gabes.  I paired it all with a pair of blue shoes to make the outfit pop.  One tip about leggings, go for a thick material that is like a stretch pant.  That way you can wear them with a short top.  If you wear a thinner legging it will be see through and only work with a dress or skirt.  Even a long shirt is risking it a bit with a thinner material.  The pair I Have on today are almost a sweater material.  Warm and definitely not see through!  XOXO, Tiffany

Baby It's Cold Outside

January 22, 2013

Baby it's cold outside!  I think the high today is 18 degrees.  That is just some craziness!  In order to keep warm I tossed fashion aside a bit and I am snuggling up in a super old tan knit sweater that has a cow neck.  I think it is from Macy's but it is so old.  I have on my black Old Navy Leggings, a pair of black, gray, and brown over the knee socks from Gabes, and my Uggs.  I actually feel warm in this outfit!  I hope you stay Warm!  XOXO, Tiffany

Cold and Comfy

January 21, 2013

This is supposed to be a super cold week in Cincinnati.  And I have a head cold like everyone else!  So today's look  is my interpretation of sweats and gymshoes.  I have on my Black Leggings (these are from Gabes), a blue and red flannel that is Lands End that I got from Snooty Fox for $3.50!  A red scarf from Charleston, my husbands high school red soccer socks and my Ugg boots.  I am very warm and feel comfy enough to craw back in bed to feel better.  But cute enough to go to Kroger and not feel sloppy or not put together!  I hope you are all nice and warm...  It's getting colder tomorrow!  YIKES!

Day One- Leggings

January 20, 2013

Today is the first day of my week of styling black leggings.  Since it is Sunday and church day I wanted to dress them up.  Yes you can dress leggings up!  I wore my black leggings, a grey dress from Target that I wore a week ago as a skirt.  (see below)  I finished the look with a pair of black heeled boots.  I felt pretty comfy in this outfit and felt dressy enough for church.  And I am pretty sure no one had a clue I had on leggings instead of tights!  Can't wait to show you all the looks this week!  XOXO, Tiffany

Look today as a dress.

Look a little over a week ago as a skirt.

Last Day of Skinny Jeans

January 19, 2013

Today is the last day of my skinny jean look.  My husband is defiantly ready to see me in something different.  I have on my Seven skinny jeans with a black turtleneck from Target, my Tory Burch bronze flats, my owl necklace from Gabes, and a red scarf that has my monogram on it that was a gift from my sister.  Again like always I was comfy but felt like I looked cute!  And it really took no effort! Tomorrow starts the black leggings looks. Enjoy your Saturday!  XOXO, Tiffany

Stripes on More Stripes

January 18, 2013

Today I had to run errands AGAIN.  I must like to torture myself taking the babies in and out of stores.  My daughter needs to stop getting invited to birthday parties! I am just kidding I am happy for her that she has a lot of friends. : ) Anyway, I wanted to be comfy while running around town so I wore my new staple Tory Burch flats, my Seven skinny jeans, a new Old Navy striped purple and navy cardigan, and a striped off white shirt from H&M.  I think the outfit turned out cute!  Yet another way to wear skinny jeans!  Are you sick of seeing me in skinny jeans yet?  Only one more day! XOXO, Tiffany

Please excuse my daughters closet in the background!

Pretty Plaid

January 17, 2013
I had a slam packed busy day today.  I had a networking event this morning and a phone interview in the afternoon.  I had to look business casual in the morning for my networking event.  I just went to Snooty fox this week and picked up 5 yes 5 name brand shirts for 22 dollars!  I wanted to rock one of those shirt so I chose the Ralph Lauren plaid button down.  I Have been wanting a plaid shirt for a while and was pumped when I found it.  The shirt cost about 6 bucks!  It was not exactly my size but I knew I could pair it with a thick belt to help with the size.  I wore it with my black pencil skirt and black thick belt.  I thought some flowered fish nets would make the plaid look more girly.  I finished off the look with a pair of heels I got from Gabes for $6!!!  Insane!  When I got home from the event I knew I wanted to be more comfy while I was prepping  for my phone interview.  I threw on my skinny jeans took off the belt and added my Tory Burch flats.  I think the look was just right and my confidence must had shown through the phone because I landed an in person interview!

Not loving the look... Day 4 Skinny Jeans

January 16, 2013

I am not loving the look today.  I thought it looked good until I took the picture.  I think the boots are too much for the look.  A nice flat probably would have workerd better.  But it was so cold today I thought I should wear my boots.  I was wrong!  Oh well you live you learn!  And on a side note I am washing the jeans...  My husband was worried I was walking around all stinky!

Skinny Jean day 3 look

January 15, 2013

Today I volunteered in JJ's class.  It was a fun 2 hours of making copies and cutting papers.  I am a bad mom but I hate volunteering in the classroom!  I do it but I just do not like making copies and doing busy work.  But I love JJ and he gets excited when I come in so I do it.  Any who, I wore my Seven skinny jeans rolled with my leopard Sperry's, a pink t-shirt from H&M, and a brown sweater from Ralph Lauren.  I tied it all together with a black scarf as well as a leopard scarf that I tied together around my neck.  I felt put together with really no effort! I mean I had to get all four of us out the door in a jiffy this morning.  I hope that you are all getting ideas on how to wear Skinny jeans in different ways.  It really is easy to dress up or down jeans!

XOXO, Tiffany

Rock Out Monday!

January 14, 2013

Day 2 on the skinny jean look.  I feel like a rocker in this outfit.  It could totally be worn out to dinner or to hear a local band play.  I have on a black long sleeve from Gabe's, my Seven skinny jeans, a black studded belt from Target, and a pair of pointy snake skin heels also from Target.  I added some statement earrings from Stein Mart and I was ready to rock!  Can't wait to show you my skinny jeans outfit for tomorrow when I go total casual for the classroom!  XOXO, Tiffany

Sunday Run Day

January 13, 2013

It rained all day today and all I did was run around in it.  I hate days like that.  There is nothing better on rainy days then staying in bed and sleeping.  Unfortunately it was a "Sunday Run Day"  for me.  Church school and soccer.  Then a birthday party for Hannah.   Luckily I had my Hunter Boots to keep my feet dry.  And as promised I am showing this week how to wear skinny jeans (a wardrobe staple) different ways to help give you all some ideas.  I wore my Seven skinny jeans and a polka dot shirt that is old from Stein Mart.  I topped the outfit with my grandma's vintage flowered trench coat.  I love the coat because it is so cheery on a rainy day with all of the colors and the flowered print.  I hope you all stayed dry today!  XOXO, Tiffany

Cheers for Sisters!

January 12, 2013

Today I met my sister at Panera for 3 hours to work on my resume.  Trust me it needed a lot of work and she was just the person to help me.  I am so lucky to have an awesome sister that was willing to help her dumb blonde of a sister out!  Today I wore black leggings from Gabe's, a Purple shirt from Stein Mart and my Tory Burch Flats.  I think it was the perfect outfit to work on a rocking resume.  So cheers to big sisters!
PS.  Check out tomorrow's post for the first of the week on how to style the same pair of skinny jeans.

 XOXO, Tiffany

Dress-Skirt?

January 11, 2013

Today we were going to the club for kids casino night with another couple.  I wanted to look cute but not too dressy.  I originally had on my yellow Madden Girl Heels but my husband said the skirt was to short.  So my new Tory Burch Bronze flats it was.  I just got the dress at Target and put a black long sleeve shirt over it to make it a skirt.  I then took the neon yellow skinny belt that came with the dress and wrapped it around my wrist as a cute bracelet.  What do you think?  I can't wait to get a lot of wears out of this dress.  I can pair it with leggings or like I said heels.  I love piece of clothes that can be worn in may different ways!

Would You Wear Red and Purple?

January 10, 2013

I saw another fashion blogger (What I Wore)wear a similar outfit that I have on today.  I thought it looked cute on her and I had all the pieces so I thought why not?  The purple pants are from Target, the cardigan is from TJ Maxx, and the red shoes are old from Macy's.  What do you think?  Would you wear these shoes with this outfit or does it not work?  XOXO Tiffany

My Must Have Items for the Winter

January 9, 2013

I had a sorority sister ask if I would blog on what items I have in my closet that I think are "must haves".  She said to pick 5 but I am going to give you a few more...

Shoes:
black flats (Tory Burch)
Nude Heels (Steve Madden)
Rain Boots (Hunter)

Pants/bottoms:
Black Leggings (Old Navy)
Skinny Jeans (Seven)
Black Pencil Skirt (Target)

Tops:
Black long Sleeve (Gap)
Black Cardigan (Worthington)
Colorful Long Sleeve (Target)

Accessories:
Colorful scarfs (at least 2) (Gap and Market in Charleston)
Silver dangling earrings (Target)
Gold Hoops (Stein Mart)

Looking at my list I think wow I am super boring in the color department.  However I think if you have a good quality basics you can add in the trendy cheaper pieces when you find them on sale.  To help make this all come together even more I am going to take the next few weeks and show how you can take one of these pieces and wear them different ways.  I will start Sunday with my Skinny Jeans and show you a "skinny jean" look everyday for a week.  Then the next week I will do the same with leggings, then the black skirt, and so forth with tops.  Hopefully this will inspire you to build on your wardrobe and give you some ideas on putting outfits together with just a few key basics!  Below are pictures of my favorite items.  XOXO, Tiffany
Nude Heels are great because the literally go with everything, black, brown, blue, EVERYTHING!  I love the black Tory Burch flats because again they go with everything and they can really dress up an not so dressy outfit.  And then finally my trusty pink rain boots.  If you live anywhere close or like Cincinnati you will be wearing these boots on a regular basis.  We typically have snow or rain at least 2 times a week in the winter so they help me keep my feet dry and warm!

I am a black girl.  I love how a good black long sleeve can again be dressed up or down and goes with everything.  A colorful printed skirt or paired with jeans you can not go wrong with black.  Same with the black cardigan.  I love to layer in the winter and with this basic I can layer over a print of a solid and still look good while keeping warm.  Finally, I feel like a good solid bright color long sleeve can be just as neutral as a long sleeve black.  Yet brings some color to your grey winter days.

I am a scarf girl.  I love this trend right now because you can wear scarfs so many different ways and it adds so much to an outfit.  And it is always good to have basic gold and silver earrings.  They can really add a little to an outfit that might have just been boring without.
Everyone needs a few good pairs of great jeans.  I however only have 3.  Yes I said it 3 pairs of jeans.  But I love the way all 3 fit me.  I picked  my skinny jeans because they look great dressed up with a heel yet can fit them into a boot so easy for those rainy cold days.  Black leggings are also great because they look super cute under a big comfy shirt or you can wear them under a dress and stay warm.  Finally a basic black pencil skirt.  I really feel that the pencil is a very flattering style on all sizes.  I have lost of lot a weight since I had Rose and I would literally buy a new black pencil skirt as I dropped a size.

2 looks

January 8, 2013

Today I had nothing exciting on my "to do" list.  I had little things like laundry and changing the bed and washing the comforters.  But other then that I had nothing major.  However, I got a call from an old co-worker that wanted to get a group of us that got laid off on a networking call today.  It was a time to bounce resume ideas off of each other and talk about how the job search was going.  It turned out to be a great call and it is something that we are going to continue to do.  I really got a lot of great tips!

Tonight I have a meeting for the Forest Hills Foundation.  As I have told you before I often have wardrobe changes.  I started my day comfy (like usual)  in a pair of grey leggings from Charlotte Russ, a black v-neck from Target, and a black cardigan from Old Navy.  I accessorized it with a black and white scarf that I received as a birthday gift from a friend.  After the kids got home from school and I had dinner in the oven I changed my look up a little for my meeting.  I put on a pair of grey slacks with thin pin-stripes.  A brown t-shirt from Polo, with a blue undershirt to peep out, my new Target blue shoes I wore New Year's Eve day and tied it all together with a brown scarf from Louise Vuitton.  I think the outfit turned out cute and actually is pretty comfortable.  Have a great night!  XOXO, Tiffany

Is it Monday Already?

January 7, 2013

Where did the weekend go?  Is it really Monday already?  UGH!  After getting the kids off to school it was off to the daily grind.  Taking the outdoor Christmas decorations down, laundry, straightening up the house, and of course the daily job search.  Today I wanted to be comfy yet cheery since after all it is Monday!  I wore a pair of my trusty black leggings these are from Old Navy, a sheer colorful blouse that I got from Target a few years ago.  A black cardigan from Worthington at JC Penney and tied it all together from a belt from Charlotte Russe.  I also thought it would cheer me up to wear my purple flats from Carnival shoes.

I hope you all have a cheery and fun week!  XOXO  Tiffany

Seeing Spots

January 6, 2013

Sunday is church day for this family.  And somehow I got my times mixed up for church school and left myself 30 minutes this morning to get the 2 older kids and myself dressed and out the door.  Always love rushed days like that!  It was a miracle I managed to do it and make it to church school on time.

Right now mixing prints is really hot.  Some people are nervous to try it because it is very different.  If you feel afraid to try the mixing of prints do what I did and keep it in the same color pallet.  It makes it less bold but still fashionable.  Honestly the black and white jumper and black and white polka dot shirt are both so old I have no idea where I got them from.  I just have never paired them together before.  I think it turned out pretty cute.  And like I said it is going with the trend but not being overly trendy.  After church and brunch I had to take Hannah to her indoor soccer game.  Luckily I had a chance to run home change clothes before her game.  I threw on a pair of jeans, my black Tory Burch Flats, and a t-shirt from Snooty Fox that had a bow with polka dot print on it.  I just layered it right over my polka dot button down and I was ready to cheer her on to a victory!  We are also meeting another family for dinner at a new local restaurant so this outfit is perfect.  You will soon notice I am the queen of wardrobe changes.  But my trick is to only switch it up a little so I
1). not dirtying more clothes and 2). make it fast since I seem to be always on the run!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!  I know we will.  XOXO  Tiffany

Who Dey!

January 5, 2013

The Cincinnati Bengals were in the playoffs today.  My husband and I took the 2 older kids to a local pub to watch the game while the babies were being babysat.  Unfortunately we lost. :( The defense and special teams sure did give it their all.  I just wish our offense would have shown up!  Oh well as they say around here "same old Bengals!"  I felt bad for them though they did really try!  The one good thing was I got to wear my orange pants one more time this football season.  It's not a mistake that my son's football team is orange, my high school team is orange, my college team is orange, and my favorite pro team is orange!  Sure makes my game day clothes pretty easy.

Today I wore my favorite orange pants from college 10 years ago.  I got them from TJ Maxx and as ugly as it was it was a pant suit!  I have no idea where the short sleeved coat is that went with them?? But I do love the pants.  What is so great about them is I can dress them up or down. Today I wore them with black heels from and a black shirt from Target.  The scarfs were from the Market from Charleston, SC.  (if you are ever there they have the best scarfs for super cheap!) I tied them both at the ends and wrapped them around my neck twice so they looked like an infinity scarf.

Even though my boys lost I still had a blast!  Here is a picture of Hannah and I cheering on our team!

Fashion First

January 4, 2013

Today at my children's elementary school it was "Safe Walk to School Day".  We live so close to the school we can walk everyday.  However, in the winter little Rose can not handle the cold temperature so I typically drive the kids.  Luckily my husband could stay home from work until I safely got them off to school.  After getting them dropped off my plans for the day were to clean the two older kids rooms and go through their closests.  Man my oldest is a slight hoarder!  I had a lot to throw away!

I wanted to be comfy but as I say "fashion first". (Wait isn't that safety first?)  I went with black leggings, a neon shirt and cardigan from Target.  And my Uggs to keep me warm!  In the picture I have on a coat from Target and a pair of Ray-Bans.  This outfit is great because we might have dinner out tonight so I can take off the boots and put on some black heels a scarf and I am set to go out without even having to worry about changing!  I hope you all have a "safe" and fun weekend!  XOXO  Tiffany
